Hurricane & Storm Season

When the weather turns, you are not alone with it.

From June 1 to November 30, every Gulf Coast owner keeps one eye on the tropics. Haven Free℠ members keep a written plan on file, a partner on the ground, and photographs instead of guesswork — wherever they happen to be when a storm turns toward Sarasota and Manatee.

Your Storm Plan

Written down long before it is needed.

The worst time to decide what happens to a house is the night a storm is named. So we decide it with you at the start, walking the house together, and write it into your home record.

  • What comes inside: outdoor furniture, planters, grills and anything that can move in the wind
  • Your shutters or impact openings: which we close, and which are installed by your licensed provider
  • Refrigerator, freezer, water and air-conditioning settings, agreed in advance
  • Vehicles, boats and golf carts left at the home, and where they should be
  • Who to call: you, your backup contact, your insurance agent and your community association

Through the Season

Four moments that matter. We are there for each.

June 1

The season opens

We review your storm plan with you, confirm how to reach you and your backup contact, and make sure your licensed providers have serviced shutters and any generator before the busy months.

When a storm is forecast

Ready, the way we agreed

We confirm with you, then ready the house to your plan — outdoor furniture and loose items in, shutters closed where we have agreed to close them, and the settings you chose. We photograph the house before the weather arrives.

After it passes

Eyes on the house

We visit as soon as it is safe and the roads are open, walk the house inside and out, and send you photographs of every room and the exterior. If anything needs attention, we bring in the right licensed firm.

November 30

The season closes

A short look back with you: what happened, what worked, and anything to change in your plan for next year.

Staying in Touch

When the phones are patchy, you still hear from us.

Before a storm we confirm the plan with you. After it, we reach you by whatever is working — text, email or phone — and through your backup contact if you have named one. You will not have to chase us for news.

We plan post-storm visits by need, and we tell you when to expect us.

For Your Insurance Records

Photographs, before and after.

Timestamped photographs of the house before the weather and after it can help you and your adjuster see what changed. We share them with you and, at your request, with your agent. We do not advise on coverage or handle claims — that is for your agent and your insurer.

What Licensed Firms Do

Clear about who does what, especially when it matters most.

Haven Free LLC is not a contractor. When the house needs trade work before or after a storm, we bring in a licensed firm from our Preferred Partners panel, working under its own agreement with you, and we keep you informed.

  • Installing panel shutters, and servicing roll-down and accordion shutters
  • Generator service and connection
  • Roof repairs and temporary roof coverings
  • Water extraction and drying after a leak or flood
  • Tree work and debris removal
